Alicia Johnston

Alicia Johnston

My claim is that full affirmation of same-sex marriage and transgender identity is the most biblical approach to the LGBTQ community. Through my study, I’ve come to believe that, though well-intentioned, the institutional church has misunderstood this issue. I recognize this claim may seem audacious or even misguided to some, but for others, it offers hope like an oasis in a desert. While many Christian churches struggle to have open, respectful conversations about LGBTQ issues, and we face the collateral damage of the church's past, I believe there is a way forward. If we have the courage to get curious and start learning, things can improve.
