A place to feel seen, safe, and supported—exactly as you are

It’s time to finally feel understood. Our Kinship community members have been in your shoes, and we're here to help you find your footing, every step of the way.

We believe God's love embraces everyone, no matter their sexual orientation or gender identity. Kinship is all about creating a safe space for meaningful conversations and collective learning. Whether through in-person gatherings or group chats, we’re here to listen, share, and grow together through genuine connections.

We are not a church, but we want to bring greater compassion into the Seventh-day Adventist community and beyond.

We’re so glad you found us. Welcome!

Welcome to SDA Kinship International

Since 1976, Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Kinship International has developed and nurtured a diverse, affirming community of LGBTQIA+ folks, families, friends, and allies.

We embrace the journeys and relationships of queer Adventists—current and former—who are seeking a safe space.

The Kinship community provides an affirming environment for respectful dialogue and useful resources. We aim to foster understanding and acceptance among the Adventist community.

We believe that God loves all His children equally and unconditionally. Join us to ask questions, explore resources, and connect with others with shared experiences.

Upcoming Meetings & Events

You are fearfully and wonderfully made

Did you know that out of over 31,000 verses in the Bible, only six refer to same-sex behaviors even remotely? And the word "homosexual" was only added to the Bible in 1946?

There has been research into how this change came about along with discoveries that challenge long-held beliefs about queer individuals’ place in God’s kingdom. Many Seventh-day Adventist Christians, from church members to theologians, agree that what the Bible doesn't say is just as important as what it does.

The Bible shows us that God's love is unconditional, and it doesn't condemn or even mention homosexuality as a sexual orientation, nor does it address transgender or non-binary identities.
